The Lake District runs from Pucón to Puerto Varas in southern Chile: snow-capped volcanoes above lakes and native forest. In summer we climb Villarrica (2,847 m) from Pucón and Osorno (2,652 m) from Puerto Varas, and our seven-day Multi-Volcano Summer links Villarrica, Llaima and Osorno with a rest day between ascents.
From July to October the same volcanoes are ski terrain: the Three Volcanoes Ski Traverse tours Lonquimay, Villarrica and Osorno with a certified mountain guide (UIAGM or national certification), and Lonquimay is also a one-day climb from Malalcahuello. From October to April, the Río Maullín near Puerto Varas is our fly fishing river for wild rainbow and brown trout.
